Access to materials

Collection is open for research; access requires at least 48 hours advance notice. Because of the nature of certain archival formats, including digital and audio-visual materials, access will require additional advanced notice. Copies of unrestricted digital files will be provided for use in the SCRC Reading Room upon request. Access will be provided to use copies of unrestricted digital files rather than carrier media, such as CDs, DVDs, and floppy disks.

The Student Leaders Oral Histories contains digital audio and video recordings of interviews conducted with former NC State student leaders as part of the Student Leadership Initiative. This multi-year program has chronicled the experiences and impact of former student leaders through the collection of video oral histories, biographical essays and digitized images. The 2010 Cathy Sterling interviews contain audio only, while the remainder of the interviews also include video. Interviews were conducted by Genya O'Gara, Jonathan Holloway, Samantha Rich, Kelly Murray , and Todd Kosmerick beginning in 2010.

Contains oral histories gathered as part of the Student Leadership Initiative, a project undertaken by the Special Collections Research Center to chronicle the experiences and impact of former North Carolina State University students. The collection of the histories began in 2010 and is ongoing. This is an artificial collection, and is maintained and updated by Special Collections Research Center staff.

Biographical/historical note

The Student Leaders Oral Histories contains digital audio and video recordings of interviews conducted with former NC State student leaders as part of the Student Leadership Initiative. This multi-year program has chronicled the experiences and impact of former student leaders through the collection of video oral histories, biographical essays and digitized images. The 2010 Cathy Sterling interviews contain audio only, while the remainder of the interviews also include video. Interviews were conducted by Genya O'Gara, Jonathan Holloway, Samantha Rich, Kelly Murray , and Todd Kosmerick beginning in 2010.

Scope/content

The 2010 Cathy Sterling interviews contain audio only, while the remainder of the interviews also include video. Interviews were conducted by Genya O'Gara, Jonathan Holloway, Samantha Rich, and Kelly Murray, and Todd Kosmerick, 2010-2014. In most cases, copies of transcripts, mp4 format videos, and mp3 format audio are available upon request.
