This collection contains a scrapbook created for Ripple by his girlfriend at the time, and documenting his time as a student at NC State (1917-1921). Also contained here are other clippings about Ripple and NC State athletics.

Biographical/historical note

J. H. (John Hollis) Ripple (1897-1965) was the first All American athlete at North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering (later called North Carolina State University). He played on the football and basketball teams. After graduating in 1921, he had a long managerial career in the textile industry, mainly for Fieldcrest Mills.

Scope/content

This collection contains a scrapbook created for Ripple by his girlfriend at the time, and documenting his time as a student at NC State (1917-1921). Also contained here are other clippings about Ripple and NC State athletics.
