Where are the microform scanners?

The Hill Library has two microform scanners: ScanPro 2000 and ScanPro 3000.

The Hunt Library has one: ScanPro 3000.

What types of microform can they scan?

These may be used to view and scan the microfilm or microfiche of materials such as newspapers, periodicals, government documents, and archival collections.

How do I access the microform scanners?

The microform scanners require a staff login. Please ask for assistance at the Ask Us. Staff will be glad to log users into the scanners and help them upon request.

What file formats can I save?

TIFF, JPEG, and PDF.

How do I use the microform scanners?

Instructions on how to use to microform scanners are found at each workstation. If you do not know how to use the scanner, a staff member will be happy to walk you through the process.

Where can I find or request microform materials?

Microform materials are found by searching the Libraries Catalog. The catalog will tell you where the material is located.

Most microforms are housed in the bookBot at the Hunt Library.

Users wishing to use microforms can obtain them by clicking the "Request" link in full record for the item in the Library Catalog. You will receive an email when the item is available, and it will be held for you at the Hill or Hunt Library Ask Us Centers.

If you are not affiliated with NC State, you can request materials using the "Continue As Guest" login within the request link.

The News and Observer and the Raleigh Times are housed in the Assistive Technologies Center at the Hill Library. Please contact a staff member for assistance to obtain these materials. Summary of News and Observer holdings
