Can I put a hold on a book that is checked out?

Yes, you can. When you look up a book in our catalog and find that it is checked out, search for the link that says "Request Item". When you select this option, you may be asked to log into your library account. You will then have a choice:

1. Hold -- have the book reserved for you when it is returned,

or

2. Tripsaver / interlibrary loan. We can borrow it for you from another library. This option will often get the book to you more quickly, but the library that loans us the item may not lend it out as long as we lend out our own materials, so the item may be due sooner than an item you check out from our collection.
