About This Exhibit

Holograms seem like a thing of the future, however Kamai Guillory wants to present a new way to think of them in the present. Guillory explores how holographic displays could bridge the gap of accessibility for underprivileged populations and shows that technology can be used as a public good.

With a partnership with the VR Studio and Colin Keenan, NC State Libraries was able to help realize Guillory’s vision for this project which explored the equity of technology and how it is possible for emerging technologies to be accessible to more.

"Kamai's work is exciting because he extrapolates from nascent technologies to focus on shared experiences, usability, and technological equity. Where others dream only of building the flying car, Kamai focuses on solving the flying traffic jam." - Colin Keenan

Kamai Guillory is a 2020 graduate of NCSU's Department of Computer Science. While at NC State, Kamai participated in research on computational creativity with the POEM Lab in the NCSU Interactive Narrative and Games Suite. Kamai is currently an Aspire New Graduate Software Engineer at LexisNexis.
