About This Event

Learn how to use Apple Loops and write and record a song in 15 minutes for this special NC State University Libraries sponsored tutorial. Digital Media Librarian Jason Evans Groth leads you in a quick and fun activity to write and share your own song! When you're done, share it with the NC State University Libraries State of Sound Project through the form at http://go.ncsu.edu/sos-fol.

Jason Evans Groth is Digital Media Librarian at NC State University Libraries. As part of the Learning Spaces and Services department he helps to support the eleven audio and video production suites and several other high-tech creative multimedia spaces. He earned his MIS/MLS from the School of Library and Information Science at Indiana University in May of 2013. At IU he was the graduate assistant for the Media Preservation Initiative from 2012- 2013, an Assistant Archivist at the Indiana University Libraries Film Archive from 2010-2013, the graduate assistant for the Digital Library Program at IU from 2011-2012, and a teaching assistant for the classes "The History of Rock and Roll: 70s and 80s," "History of the Beach Boys," "Music of Frank Zappa," "History of the Blues," and "History of Jimi Hendrix." From 2001-2010 he toured the world as a guitar player and with many bands and artists, including Magnolia Electric Co, Jens Lekman, and The Impossible Shapes.
