About This Event

State of Sound Stories from NC State University Libraries invites individuals and groups to share their personal sound stories - their own creative paths that got them involved with sound - to highlight diverse ways forward for those interested in making sound a bigger part of their lives or careers.

Join us in the Hill Library Fishbowl Forum on Monday, April 17 at 4:30pm for a conversation with Maddie Jennette. Maddie is the current and also outgoing General Manager of WKNC 88.1, NC State's student run radio station. She's been involved with the station since the fall of 2019, first getting involved as a DJ, then serving as Local Music Director and Daytime Music Director before beginning her term as GM in the spring of 2021. Since joining WKNC she's trained over 70 various DJs and staff members, created and managed a station-wide Discord server, hosted a 24 hour long marathon for World College Radio Day, organized WKNC's participation in Shack-A-Thon, and interviewed two of her favorite bands, Wednesday and Jockstrap - in addition to so many others.

The conversation will be captured for the State of Sound Stories podcast, coming soon to podcast distributors everywhere.
