Read Smart Book Discussion - Weather by Jenny Offill

In preparation for Jenny Offill's visit to NC State (reserve your space for her visit on March 28 here), we will be reading and discussing Weather, Offill's novel about a Brooklyn wife and mother — a Ph.D. dropout turned university librarian — who takes a job answering listener letters to a climate change podcast. Our discussion will be led by Sally Parlier, a graduate student in NC State's MFA program. She is currently working on an Appalachian Gothic novel and co-authoring a monograph on horror film in the late Anthropocene. She is the inaugural winner of Redbud Writing Project's Coppice Prize, and her short stories appear in Seize the Press and elsewhere.
