Engineering workbench (formerly IHS specs & standards)

Description

Includes full-text up to date standards from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL). See Standards Available at NC State University Libraries for more information about the complete standard sets the NC State University Libraries buys or has free access to.

How do I access this database?

If you have registered for an NC State-affiliated Engineering Workbench account previously

  • Access Engineering Workbench, enter your @ncsu.edu email address, and click the Continue button.
  • Enter the password you chose for your Engineering Workbench account and click the Continue button to login.
  • If you cannot remember your password, enter your ncsu.edu email address, click the Continue button, and click "Forgot Password?" on the following screen.

If you do not have an NC State-affiliated Engineering Workbench account, follow the instructions below to create one

  • Visit Engineering Workbench and click the "Create a New Account" link below the login box.
  • On the following screen, enter your ncsu.edu email address, complete the reCAPTCHA, and click the Continue button.
  • You should receive a confirmation of an activation code being sent to the email you entered on the previous screen.
  • Leaving the Engineering Workbench website open in a separate tab, login into your ncsu.edu email account to retrieve the activation code.
  • Copy the activation code from your email, enter it into the box on the Engineering Workbench website, and click the Continue button.
  • Enter your first name and last name into the form and click the Create Account button.
  • Create a password following the password requirement prompts, then click the Create Password button.
  • You will be returned to a login screen where you can log into Engineering Workbench using the password you just created.
