| Responsibilities |
The NCSU Libraries IT department is at the leading edge of multiple technology fronts including virtual desktops, unified digital communications, multi-touch computing, large-scale 4K displays, 3D audio and video simulations, and mobile devices and applications. You will gain real-world, hands on experience as you work alongside IT staff supporting best-in-class enterprise technology solutions. Student IT Specialists work individually and collaboratively to assist library patrons and staff with technology problems, diagnose and resolve computer and network issues, deploy new hardware and software, and manage technology assets. All applicants must be able to lift 35 lbs and must pass a background check. |
| Qualifications |
Required: Experience installing and configuring hardware and applications. Strong customer service and communication skills. Problem solving ability. Must be a currently enrolled student. Preferred: Experience with technology support, customer service, or other related fields. Familiarity with inventory processes and asset management systems. Demonstrated knowledge of Windows, OS X, and Linux operating systems. Expertise with networking and cabling, system imaging, hardware troubleshooting and repair, relational databases, projection equipment and displays, video conferencing, lighting and sound, media production, or other technical specialities relevant to the Libraries� deployed systems. |
