NCSU Libraries offers a variety of digital single-lens rlex (DSLR) cameras and accessories. We offer two types of cameras:
- Olympus E-620 Digital SLR Camera (available only at D. H. Hill Library)
- Canon EOS Rebel T4i (available only at Hunt Library)
How to Borrow
Borrowing a DSLR and optional accessories can be done by appointment only. As the cameras are a popular item, we suggest placing a reservation at least a week in advance to ensure a better chance of receiving one. To request an appointment, please follow one of the links below.
Friday - Thursday loans: We lend cameras on Fridays 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m from the Learning Commons service desk at D. H. Hill Library (Olympus cameras only) or the Ask Us center at the Hunt Library (Canon cameras only). Cameras are due back the next Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Patrons who miss their Friday reservations will have their reservations cancelled at 5:00 PM, upon which the camera can be offered to the next person on the waitlist.
15-minute appointments: At check-out, we require a brief 15 minute orientation and review of all the parts being loaned. In order to provide high quality cameras we require the cameras to be returned with all parts. Patrons are fully liable for the cost of replacement in the event of damage or loss.
