<head>Biographical Note</head>
<p><persname>Robert T. Geolas</persname> joined the <corpname>International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR)</corpname> at <corpname>Clemson University</corpname> in April 2004. As director, Geolas is responsible for overall leadership and management of the Clemson auto research campus.</p>
<p>A graduate of <corpname>North Carolina State University</corpname>, Geolas has worked as executive assistant to the North Carolina secretary of transportation and as legislative liason for the N.C. speaker of the house. He has served on the <corpname>Commission for a Competitive North Carolina</corpname>, the <corpname>N.C. Governor’s Task Force for Regionalism</corpname> and the <corpname>N.C. Governor’s Policy Council</corpname>. Geolas served as top manager at the 1,334-acre Centennial Campus at North Carolina State University from 2000 until he joined CU-ICAR. In his N.C. State position, Geolas provided direct oversight for <corpname>Centennial Campus</corpname> and <corpname>Centennial Biomedical Campus</corpname>. Centennial is home to nearly 60 private and government organizations that employ more than 1,500 people.</p>
