Historical NoteA Department of Industrial Arts and a Department of Industrial Education dated back to the early days of School of Education. By the 1970s a Department of Occupational Education existed. It had formerly been known as the Center for Occupational Education. The Center was established to further occupational education, and it was founded after passage of the Vocational Education Act of 1963 and the Vocational Education Amendments of 1968.
