How do I search for patents?
The best single source of patent information we have is the Derwent Innovations Index database (available through the Web of Knowledge platform).
For information on conducting a patentability search for inventors, or other types of searches, see this guide.
If you are searching for a "known" patent, (i.e. you have a patent number), you can look it up using the USPTO web site or Google Patents' Advanced Search option.
