"OAIster is a union catalog of digital resources. We provide access to these digital resources by "harvesting" their descriptive metadata (records) using OAI-PMH (the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting). Digital resources include items such as: digitized (i.e., scanned) books and articles, born-digital texts, audio files, images, movies, [and] datasets." As of July 2009, OAIster provides access to nearly 23 million records from more than 1150 contributors.--About pages.
