Libraries Faculty Award

Established in commemoration of the Libraries’ centennial year in 1989, the Libraries Faculty Award recognizes faculty contributions to its mission and goals, encompassing collections, services, public scholarship, and innovative collaboration in teaching and research. The distinguished recipients of this award have established a lasting foundation of excellence, enriching the Libraries’ services for generations of students and scholars.

Eligibility

  • All NC State faculty members, except former recipients, are eligible to be nominated for this award.
  • Libraries faculty are not eligible for nomination.

Nomination criteria

  • Promotes the role of the Libraries as a cornerstone of the university’s mission.
  • Promotes access to and awareness of the Libraries' resources, services, and spaces for learning and research.

The award includes:

  • A monetary award of $500 intended to support public engagement activities or presentation of the open and public scholarship
  • A special recognition certificate
  • Honorary life membership in the Friends of the Libraries
  • Name engraved on the NC State University Libraries Faculty Award plaque
